Daniel Zamora struck out eight over eight shutout innings and allowed just six hits as the No. 1 seed Stony Brook Sea Wolves downed Hartford 2-0 in the first round of the America East tournament.

The offense was stagnant over the first three innings, but Andruw Gazzola, who was recently named to the All-Rookie Team, drove in Robert Chavarria with an RBI single to get the Sea Wolves on the board.

In the sixth inning, America East Player of the Year, Jack Parenty, led off the frame with a walk. After stealing second and advancing on a wild pitch, Chavarria drove him in with a single to extend the lead to 2-0.

That was all Zamora needed, he cruised through eight innings. He struck out two in the eighth to finish with eight strikeouts.

In the ninth, Cameron Stone came on in relief and nailed down his fifth save with a 1-2-3 inning.

The Sea Wolves will play tomorrow at 5 p.m.
