Thanks to a 16-4 conference record, Stony Brook has clinched the No. 1 seed in the America East tournament.

They finished up a three-game sweep of UMass-Lowell today with a 9-0 shutout. Ryley MacEachern threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out five. Nicholas DiEva closed the door with two shutout innings of relief.

They wasted no time taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Toby Handley hit an RBI triple to score Cole Peragine. Jack Parenty drove him in with a sac fly and Casey Baker drove in Robert Chavarria with an RBI single.

That was all the pitching staff would need on this day.

Peragine, Baker and Andruw Gazzola all smacked three hits and Chavarria scored three runs. The offense compiled 15 hits in total and also drew four walks.

They will finish up the regular season next weekend with a three-game set in Binghamton.
