Dowling has been crowned co-regular season champions with a 15-9 record in conference play. They tied with Bridgeport.
On Thursday, Dowling will be the home team against LIU Post in the first round of the playoffs, which will be held at Molloy College.
On paper, it would seem the Golden Lions are the superior team, but on April 11 they faced Pioneers’ ace Jake DeCarli and were defeated 7-2. LIU Post took three of four games that series so it will certainly be an intriguing match up.
Additionally, the Golden Lions are without ace Cody McPartland, who suffered a season-ending knee injury.
