It will be Farmingdale and Old Westbury duking it out for the Skyline Conference championship yet again beginning at 11 am.
Old Westbury will have the advantage of needing just one win to be crowned champs since they enter the finals unbeaten. After being Farmingdale yesterday 2-1, they topped No. 1 seed St. Joseph’s today 6-5 on a walk off single by Eddie Hernandez.
The Panthers trailed 5-4 entering the ninth inning against St. Joseph’s ace Josh Outsen. and they were down to their final two out after Tommy Zeigen flew out. Pinch hitter Jake Schwartz got it started with a double down the line. Pinch hitter Robert Crocitto singled home pinch runner Jesse Matos to tie the game.
That chased Outsen from the game and Michael Catanzaro came in relief.
A ground out advanced pinch runner Tyler Roberts to put the winning run in scoring position. Eddie Hernandez sent Old Westbury to the finals with an RBI single to win 6-5.
Nick Dorcean was credited with his third win of the season–he threw the ninth inning and struck out two.
They will be playing Farmingdale again. They won two elimination games–first against Maritime by the score of 7-3 and then over No. 1 St. Joseph’s.
The Rams held a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning, and despite allowing three runs in the fifth and sixth innings, they had no trouble holding on.
Ryan Osborne drove in three runs and Anthony Alvino drove in two. Ryan O’Connor improved to 6-1 with 5.1 innings of work, allowing three ER and striking out one.
In the next game against St. Joseph’s, the Golden Eagles took an early 2-0 lead on a two-run error by the Farmingdale third baseman.

The Rams answered with three of their own in the bottom half. Mike Marino hit an RBI single to score Tom Rydzewski, Domenic Palumbo scored Marino on an RBI single and Ryan Osborne scored Nick Osburn on a fielder’s choice.
In the top of the second, Nick Girardi smacked an RBI triple to score Anthony Bonilla and tie up the game.
Farmingdale got that run back on a wild pitch.
The real turning point of the game was in the bottom of the sixth when Alvino hit an RBI double to score P.J. Harrington and extend the Rams’ lead to 6-4. The Rams never looked back after that.
Dalton McCarthy received the win with 4.1 inning of relief, allowing one ER and striking out five.
Alex Pangouelias closed the game out by getting the last two outs and closing the door on the Golden Eagles’ season prematurely.
First pitch will be at 11 am in Patchogue, Farmingdale will need to win twice to capture the crown.
