You can totally ignore the non-conference stats or choose to interpret it as trend. Whatever the case may be, St. Joseph’s has now lost consecutive games to sub .500 teams entering the Skyline Conference playoffs on Friday.
Yesterday it was a 9-6 loss to 2-26 John Jay College and today it was an 8-5 loss to New Jersey City–who entered with a 15-20 record.
The Golden Eagles used many of their typical starters in the lineup–Joseph Lynn, Brendan Sullivan, Joe Calabrese, James Nakashian and Anthony Bonilla but used the day to get some work in for their relievers.
The offense did compile 14 hits–with three coming by CF Ryan Walsh, who also scored a run. Bonilla had two separate RBI singles and Lynn hit a two-run double.
Adam Brisman suffered his second loss of the season for the Golden Eagles.
Tomorrow, of course will be a game with much more significance. The No. 1 Golden Eagles will take on No. 4 Maritime at 1 p.m.
