Stony Brook Keeps Rolling, Score in Seven of Eight Innings

The Stony Brook Sea Wolves have made a habit of treading water in February and March before turning on the jets in April and May. They cruised past Fairfield 15-3 today to improve to 24-12. They’ve now won 14 of their past 15 games.
They scored in the first seven innings of the game and starter Tim Knesnik was dominant–allowing only one hit over five shutout innings, while striking out six. You can read a scouting report on him here.

The offense cranked 16 hits. Toby Handley, Casey Baker and Jeremy Giles each had three hits. Baker drove in four runs, Jack Parenty drove in three runs and scored three times.

Additionally, the offense drew nine walks to exhaust the pitching of Fairfield even further.

The Sea Wolves will host Hartford this weekend in a three-game set as they look to keep rolling and snag that No. 1 seed in the conference.
