It’s doesn’t matter the opponent–a perfect game is an accomplishment that should be recognized and celebrated.
Josh Outsen of St. Joseph’s struck out 12 Maccabees batters in a perfect game today. The Golden Eagles won by the score of 11-0.
“I’d say around the third inning after I got through the lineup once,” said the sophomore from Copiague HS in regards to when he starting thinking about the perfecto. “Felt real good out there the entire game,” he added.
He noted that it was his first perfect game or no-hitter at any level.
With the victory, the Golden Eagles improve to 13-1 in conference play. They also won the first game of the DH by the score of 15-1 which dropped Yeshiva to 0-15 on the season.
They will take on St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on Sunday as they prepare for the Skyline Conference playoffs next weekend–which they will be hosting.
