Trailing 4-1 after the first inning, Farmingdale mounted an impressive comeback and recorded a 9-7 win in a non-conference game against College of Staten Island.

The Rams used a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run triple by Tom Rydzewski that tied the game at five and an RBI single by Sage Turner to break the tie.

In the bottom of the inning, the Dolphins actually took a 7-6, but the Rams responded with three unanswered runs. Dan Lombardo hit a sac fly to tie the game at seven in the fifth and then a wild pitch and a double steal in the seventh inning would give them the lead for good.

Rams starter Joe Zabbara struggled through two innings, allowing four walks but he was relieved by Dalton McCarthy who went five innings, allowing two ER while striking out three to record his first victory of the season.

Jon Scheier and David Otero Jr combined to throw two shutout innings to seal the victory.

With the victory, the Rams ended the Dolphins’ eight-game win streak and improve to 14-13 on the season.

They will travel to the Bronx this weekend for a crucial DH at Maritime that will conclude their conference schedule. With one victory, they will punch a ticket to the conference tournament.
