Three Crooked Numbers is the Formula For Adelphi

The Adelphi Panthers split with Felician in their DH on Sunday. It brings their record to 13-14 on the season.


In the first game, they fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first on a double play that allowed the run to score. It didn’t last long, as they responded in the next half inning.

John Fogarty hit a sac fly which scored Robert Vani. In the fourth inning, a wild pitch scored Donato Signore and advanced Eric Hassell to third. Later in the inning, Mike Stack hit a sac fly to score Hassell and increase the lead to 3-1.

The Panthers added two more in the fifth inning on RBI hits by Signore and Fogarty.

Felician scored two in the seventh to briefly put a scare in the Panthers, but Adelphi opened it up with three in the ninth on an RBI single, wild pitch and fielder’s choice.

Mike Cranston was credited with his fifth save of the season, as he threw two shutout innings while striking out two.

In the second game, Adelphi led 2-1 entering the seventh inning but Felician put up four runs on an RBI triple and two RBI doubles to take a 5-2 lead.

Cranston had his first rough outing of the season, allowing four ER in just 0.2 innings, needing 27 pitches. 

TJ Santiago started for the Panthers and went six innings, allowing just one ER and he was in line for the victory.

They will host Pace on Wednesday as they hope to improve to .500.
