The Bears of NYIT won a swift two hour 14 minute game against Northeastern 2-0 to avoid the three-game sweep.

They scored both of their runs in the top of the sixth. The first run came on an RBI double to right center field by Joe Sebastian (2-for-4, one R, one RBI). That was followed by a double by Gerson Sotolongo

That was all that was needed by starter David Plotkin, who went the distance, allowing four hits, four walks while striking out seven batters.

The Bears compiled only four hits in the game and struck out 18 times at the plate but managed to scrape across the necessary runs to win.

The victory is the ninth of the season for NYIT–they will travel to Manhattan on Tuesday to take on the Jaspers at 3:30 pm.
