The Golden Lions put up four crooked numbers and received another dominant outing from Cody McPartland as they cruised to a 12-4 victory over Mercy. They improved to 19-8 on the season.
Dowling scored two in the first on an RBI triple by Michael Richter and a run-scoring single by Tyler Piccolo.
Mercy got on the board in the third on a sac fly, but the Golden Lions responded with a huge fourth inning. Vinny Orlando singled home Richter. Adam Schuster drew a bases loaded walk for the second run of the inning. RJ Going hit a sac fly and Jon Cruz hit an RBI single to open up the game.
They broke it open even more in the fifth on a steal of home by Tyler Hardison and a double by Chris Appell.
Hardison led the offensive attack with four hits but Piccolo and Orlando also had three of their own.
Starting pitcher Cody McPartland won his third game of the season with seven dominant innings, allowing just one ER while striking out seven and walking one.
These two teams will meet again tomorrow at noon and Sunday for a DH.
