The Stony Brook Sea Wolves took advantage of some porous defense by Manhattan to roll to a 10-3 victory and improve their record to 13-11.
The offense wasted no time in taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning when an error by the second baseman brought home Toby Handley, and Johnny Caputo followed with a laser beam of a double to get out to a 2-0 lead.
They opened it up with a three-spot in the second inning. Jeremy Giles started it off with a single and Andruw Gazzolla was hit by a pitch to advance him to second. After two ground outs, Handley reached on another error by the second baseman to score Giles and Jack Parenty followed with a long triple over the CF head.
That was all the offense they needed. Starter Nick DiEva went three shutout innings to record the victory. A parade of relievers including; Aaron Pinto, Nick Brass, Tim Knesnik, Joseph Guercio and Cole Creighton threw six innings, allowing three ER.
Handley, Parenty and Caputo all had multi-hit games, with Parenty driving in three runs. Parenty is on fire of late, he is now hitting .354 with 21 RBI through 96 at bats.
The Sea Wolves will welcome UMBC this weekend, begining with a double header on Saturday.
