Hofstra Cruises Past NYIT

In the battle of ‘516’ Division-I teams, the Hofstra Pride soared past NYIT for the ninth consecutive time by the score of 7-3 to improve. With the victory, the Pride improve to 10-16 on the season.


The offense wasted no time in building a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Brian MacDonald to score Eric Ferguson.

They broke it open in the fourth inning, Ferguson hit a sac fly to left field to score Brad Witkowski. Ryan Donovan hit a sac fly to score Dalton Rouleau and MacDonald hit another RBI single to increase the lead to 4-0.

NYIT got one back in their half of the inning on a solo home run by Joe Sebastian. 

The Pride answered with a run-scoring single by David Leiderman and a double steal later in the inning, in which Leiderman stole home. 

Adam Seibert won his first game of the season with five strong innings allowing two ER while striking out four. 

Chris Bonk, Nick Kozlowski and Chris Weiss combined to throw four innings of relief, allowing only one run.

The Pride will be back in action this weekend with a three-game set against Towson University.
