Brendan Butler Dominates Bloomfield to Push Dowling’s Streak to Six Games

You don’t usually win when the offense musters only four hits. But, when your starting pitcher needs only 94 pitches to breeze through a complete game then it’s possible.

Brendan Butler won his second game of the month for the Golden Lions who have now won six consecutive games and pushed their win streak to six with a 2-0 victory over Bloomfield College. Butler allowed only three hits, walked one while striking out five in the seven inning complete game.

The offense was stagnant, but didn’t need to produce much. Senior Jon Cruz hit a two-run double to score Matthew Moschovas and Dylan Piscitelli in the fourth inning. That was all the action in the game.

The Golden Lions will now travel to Delaware to take on Wilmington University in a double header beginning at 12. They will will be looking to add to that win streak.

The team ERA stands at 2.40 through 13 games–so much for the pre-season talk that centered around losing their best pitchers from last season.
