Six-Run Sixth Powers Old Westbury Past Mount St. Vincent’s

Tommy Zeigen broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with an RBI double to right field to give the Old Westbury Panthers a 4-3 lead over Mount St. Vincent’s. 


The Panthers added five more runs to put the game away and improve to 7-2 on the season.

Tyler Kapela recorded the win with five innings, allowing three ER, four hits and three walks while striking out four. He was relieved by Vinny Bieniek, Nick Schoen and Justin Mize who combined for four shutout innings.

The offense compiled 14 hits–Eddie Hernandez, Jonathan Pagan, Christian Faust, Michael Cardino and Zeigen all recorded two hits.

Faust and Nick Yip both drove in two runs.

The teams will play again in the second game of the twin bill.
