It was smooth sailing for the Stony Brook Sea Wolves Sunday against UMass-Lowell, as their ace Tyler Honahan breezed through 6.1 innings while striking out a career-high 13 batters. They were victorious 10-1.
Only two opposing batters did not succumb to Honahan once he got to two strikes. He also allowed only four hits to win his fourth game of the season before April 1.
The offense struck early and often. They scored two runs in the second, fourth, seventh and eighth innings.
Catcher Cole Peragine led the way with three hits, one run and one RBI. Jack Parenty had two hits, drove in a run and scored one. Johnny Caputo and Casey Baker did the same. The offense was aggressive and struck out only two times in the game.
Chad Lee came in relief of Honahan and fired 2.2 shutout innings with three strikeouts to close the door.
The Sea Wolves improved to 9-10 and they will host UMass-Lowell again tomorrow in a double header beginning at noon.
