The Dowling Golden Lions stayed hot with an easy 10-4 win over Bloomfield in the first game of a double header on Sunday.

They got out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning on a bases loaded walk by Dylan Piscitelli, followed by an RBI single by Chris Appell.

They employed a pitcher-by-committee method as Cody McPartland started and threw three shutout innings. He was relieved by Nick Persad, who contributed two shutout innings. Thomas Bashen allowed 3 ER in his 1.2 innings but Robert Rose closed the door with 0.1 innings.

The difference in the game was a five-run fourth inning by the Golden Lions. RJ Going hit a sac fly, Rob Costanzo hit a two-run single, as did Adam Schuster.

After the victory, the Golden Lions are now 8-3 on the season.

The teams will meet again in the second game of the double header.
