The losing streak hits five for the Farmingdale Rams, as they lost to William Patterson today by the score of 6-3.
They took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third on an error which scored Nick Osburn. Anthony Alvino‘s RBI double increased the lead to 2-0 in the following frame.
Unfortunately, that was the last inning they held a lead. In the bottom of the fourth the Pioneers put up two runs on starter Dalton McCarthy (0-3).
They added single runs in the fifth and sixth inning to build their lead.
The Rams fought back in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Osburn, but McCarthy flew out to end the threat.
Alvino led off the ninth with a single off closer Mitch D’Amato but the Rams were unable to spark a rally as D’Amato retired the next three hitters.
The Rams fall to 2-8 on the season while the Pioneers improved to 12-2.
Next up is a crucial Skyline Conference matchup for the Rams on Saturday with St. Joseph’s in a double header in Patchogue.
