Stony Brook played a makeup game against Fordham on Wednesday, they were victorious 6-5 to take the series from the Rams.
The game was tied 5-5 in the seventh inning when freshman Andruw Gazzola drove in the go-ahead run which proved to be the game-winner.
Kevin Kernan, also a freshman, recorded the win for the Sea Wolves. He threw three strong innings in relief–allowing one ER on one hit with two strikeouts–to put his team in position to win.
Teddy Rodliff recorded the rare nine-out save with three shutout innings, allowing two hits and one walk to close the door for his second save of the young season.
Stony Brook opened up the game with a three-run first inning but the Rams responded with two in their half of the first.
The Sea Wolves added two in the second inning on a two-run HR by Jack Parenty, the second of his career.
