Tyler Badamo on His 2014 Season and Goals Moving Forward

I look back at 2014 as the most important year of my career to this point. I had a season that, honestly if someone told me before everything I did was going to happen, I would have laughed and said that’s next to impossible. My college stats speak for themselves and what I learned in my first year in pro ball will be with me throughout my life. The jump from Division-II baseball to professional baseball was something that you think about the second you realize there is a chance to play professional, but you never realize all the differences until it happens. When I arrived in Port St. Lucie I began to realize how different college players are compared to high school and Latin players. I got to really see how much a person grows up and develops in college and once the season started it was easy to spot a college athlete.
My success on the field during college I attribute a lot to my offseason and in-season training at Team 13 Fitness and the constant contact with past coaches that have helped me.  2014 was a very inspirational and important year and it will be a year that I will never forget. I have been training very hard this offseason getting prepared for Spring Training this year. My goals for this year are to help the Mets organization win in anyway possible at whatever level I am playing at. On a personal level I would like to keep developing my pitches more specifically my change up and to keep my walks down and my ERA below a 3.00.
I recently got engaged to Ashley Curran, on January 3rd of this year while on vacation in the Bahamas for my grandparent’s 50th anniversary. I have been with Ashley for 5 ½ years and we have a beautiful daughter named Brooke. She has been there through everything and I couldn’t think of having anyone else by my side throughout my professional career. I look forward to what 2015 is going to bring.
