Hofstra beat LIU-Brooklyn 11-3 to get back on the winning track and improve to 16-15. It was a 3-3 game in the seventh until the Pride broke it open with home runs from Brian MacDonald, Ryan Donovan and Eric Peterson. MacDonald scored four runs and drove in two. Peterson drove in four runs and scored one.

The Pride threw seven pitchers, with Cody Normand winning his first game of the season.

They will take on Willam & Mary this weekend in a three-game set.

CW Post lost 12-8 to Mercy College to fall to 15-13. The game was tied 4-4 in the eighth until Mercy exploded with a seven-run eighth. Joey Arena threw 7.1 innings, gave up 4 er while suffering his fourth loss of the season.

Brian Tinney had three hits, drove in a run and scored one. Tom Tolan had two hits and scored two runs.

They will take on Bridgeport in a three-game series starting Friday.

Dowling beat Concordia 9-2 to improve to 25-10. Nick Persad went eight innings and allowed nine hits and only one run for his first win of the season. Andrew Abreu went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and RJ Going added two hits and three RBI.

Concordia fell to 6-21 with the loss.

Adelphi lost 6-4 to Southern Connecticut. The big blow was Joe Breen’s two-run double in the eighth inning for the Owls.

Seven Panther pitchers, including four from the rotation, took the mound and combined to allow 11 hits. Mike Cranston suffered his second loss of the season.

Rich Mejia had two hits, two RBI and scored one run for the Panthers.

Old Westbury beat Lehman 6-4 to improve to 15-18. They overcame a 4-0 deficit in the fifth inning thanks to two home runs by Nick Yip, who drove in three runs and scored two. Robinson Hernandez also had three hits and scored a run.

Tyler Kapela threw 4.2 shutout innings in relief of Nick Dorcean to record his second win of the season. Alex DiSanto recorded his second save of the season.
