CW Post beat Dowling 5-3, with Tyler Badamo suffering the loss in relief. The Golden Lions drop to 24-10 on the season, while the Pioneers improve to 14-12.
Dowling led 3-2 in the top of the eighth. JJ Bessell exited after 7.1 innings, allowing three runs (one earned). Badamo came in relief and allowed an RBI single by Anthony Brunetti. In the ninth, Tom Tolan drove in two runs with a single to give the Pioneers a 5-3 lead. Brian Tinney fired two shutout innings in relief for the victory. He came in relief of Jake DeCarli who went the first seven innings and allowed three runs.
The teams combined for only 12 hits; the pitchers kept them uncomfortable all day. Tolan and Brunetti for the only players with multi-hit games.
The runs charged to Badamo were unearned, so technically his streak has now hit 61.2 without an earned run.
The Golden Lions will play Concordia tomorrow while the Pioneers will play Dominican.
