Dowling beat CW Post by the score of 11-2 to improve to 23-8 and drop CW Post to 12-11. The big story was Tyler Badamo throwing eight innings, allowing no earned runs to run his streak of innings without an earned run to 60. He has allowed unearned runs, which would differentiate this streak from Orel Hershiser’s record of 59.2 in 1988. Badamo struck out 10 batters. He is now 6-1 and his statistics are other-worldly. He has a chance to be a first-team All-American if he continues anywhere near this streak.
Joey Arena suffered his third loss for the Pioneers, he entered with the lowest H/9 in Division-II at 3.79, but that suffered as he allowed five hits in four innings.
Jon Cruz compiled three hits and scored three runs and Adam Schuster added three hits and three RBI. The series will continue tomorrow.
