Stony Brook beat Rhode Island 5-4 to stay hot and improve to 21-11. The winning run came in the bottom of the eighth on a sac fly by Johnny Caputo. Nick Brass threw the final two innings to record his first win of the season. Kevin Krause and Keven Courtney both had two hits and scored three of the five runs.
They will take on UMass-Lowell in a three-game series beginning Friday.
NYIT lost a double header to Fairfield by the scores of 4-1 and 5-3. They are now 1-29 on the season and will take on Hofstra today.
Hofstra got shut out 5-0 to Manhattan to drop to 13-13 on the season. Alec Eisenberg suffered the loss for the Pride with Shawn Kanwisher recording the victory for the Jaspers, who are now 8-23.
The Pride were held to seven hits, TJ Ehrsam accounting for two of those. They will return to action on Friday against the University of Delaware.
Adelphi defeated Pace 6-2 to improve to 16-14. TJ Santiago recorded his second win of the season, firing six innings and allowing two earned runs. Mike Cranston threw two shutout innings in relief and John Donnelly sealed the deal.
The offense compiled 12 hits; with seven of those coming by Nick Zito and Eric Hassell. The latter drove in three runs, with the big hit coming in the fifth inning on a two-run single.
They will take on LeMoyne tomorrow.
