Stony Brook Sweeps Binghamton

The 0-6 start is now a distant memory. The Stony Brook Sea Wolves have now won 20 of 25 after completing a weekend sweep of Binghamton at Joe Nathan Field.

They won the first game 3-1, with Tim Knesnik winning his second game of the season. He tossed 5.1 shutout innings but walked five batters against one strikeout. Bryan Tatelman and Cameron Stone each threw  1.2 innings with the latter recording the save. Jack Parenty hit a two-run triple in the fifth which accounted for all the necessary runs.

The middle game ended 5-4 in 10 innings. Brandon McNitt went the first five innings while allowing four runs. He was relieved by Ryley MacEachern fired the next five innings, shutdown the opposition and recorded the win when Kevin Courtney scored on a wild pitch. Jack Parenty had three hits in the game.

They completed the sweep with a 12-2 drubbing. They scored four runs in the second and sixth inning. Kevin Courtney and Johnny Caputo hit home runs. Courtney had three hits, four RBI and three runs. Caputo had three hits, as did Parenty. Tyler Honahan won his fifth game, he went six innings and allowed two runs.

Stony Brook will take on Rhode Island on Wednesday to complete their home stand.
