The Molloy Lions won all three this weekend, beginning with one against Dominican College on Saturday and followed it with a DH sweep of Nyack on Sunday.
Max Schonfeld won his third game of the season by firing seven innings without an earned run against Dominican with six strikeouts. Matt Castaneda recorded his fourth save of the season by getting the last two outs, although he did yield two runs. Kevin Podell led the offense with three hits and scored a run.
The Lions won the first game against Nyack 12-1. Alex Miden recorded the win with seven shutout innings allowing only three hits. The offense was lively, with Podell leading the way again with four hits and three RBI. Nick Gonchar also had four hits and three RBI.
In the next game, they hung on 2-1 with Shea Spitzbarth firing a complete game, allowing one run on seven hits. Kyle Van Duyne drove in Ron Bauer for the game-winning run.
The Lions are now 12-15 and will travel to New Haven for a 3:30 game.
