The Hofstra Pride won two of three this weekend over UNC-Wilmington to improve to 13-12 on the season.
After losing the first game, they responded with an 11-5 win on Saturday. David D’Errico made his first start since the opening night of the season and was victorious with a strong five inning start allowing one run. Graham Tebbit relieved him and tossed the final four innings. The offense backed them with a season-high 18 hits and scored 11 runs. Eric Ferguson, Matt Ford and Brian MacDonald recorded three hits.
They took the rubber match on Sunday with a smooth 3-1 win. David Jesch started and went 6.2, allowing one run on six hits and one walk. Brett Schreiber fired the last 2.1 innings to record his sixth save of the season and program-record 15th career save.
They will travel to Westbury tomorrow to take on a 1-27 NYIT team.
