NYIT Loses Close One to LIU-Brooklyn

The NYIT Bears nearly ended their long losing streak, but dropped a close one 12-10 to LIU Brooklyn to move to 1-24 on the season.

They were down 6-0 after one and 8-1 after five but scratched and clawed back with eight runs in their last four innings. They outhit the opposition 17 to 15; Joe Daru and Tom Joannou both had four. Anthony Martelli also had three hits.

Matt Diaz suffered the loss for the Bears, he lasted only 0.1 innings while allowing four earned runs. J.P Lipovac came in relief and tossed the next five innings, allowing five earned runs.

The losing streak has now hit 10, and they will take on Seton Hall this weekend in a three-game set.
