The Farmingdale State Rams ended their mini losing streak with an easy 11-4 victory over Baruch. They crushed 19 hits; including a huge 4-for-5 day with three runs scored for leadoff hitter Ed Bergmann. Mike Marino added three hits and three RBI.
Freshman Daniel Tierney recorded the victory, as he fired 5.2 innings of two-run ball in relief of Kevin Martinez who started and was lifted after 0.2 innings. He struck out seven batters in his outing.
Ambioris Veras, Kevin Cashman and Dominick Morelli combined to close the door with 2.2 shutout innings.
For Baruch, the leadoff hitter, Nick Pomo-Roman went 4-for-5 with two runs scored but the rest of the lineup only had five hits.
The Rams improve to 13-8 and have double headers this weekend against NYU-Poly and Old Westbury.
