Stony Brook stayed hot with a 16-4 trouncing of Manhattan to improve to 17-11. The Sea Wolves were up 10-0 after two innings.

Toby Handley went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Robert Chavarria, Cole Peragine, Casey Baker and Jack Parenty each had two hits.

They also benefitted from sloppy defense by Manhattan–they committed five errors. Josh Barry got his second win of the season by throwing 5.1 strong innings, allowing one run.

They will be back in action on Saturday when they begin a three-game set against Binghamton.

NYIT lost both games of a double header to Siena  9-2 and 6-0 to drop to 1-24 on the season. They were down 6-0 early on in the first, but the pitching staff settled in after that. Nick Sebastian compiled two hits for the Bears.

They will take on LIU-Brooklyn as they look to turn around this dreaded losing streak.

Hofstra shutout Farmingdale 13-0 in cross-division matchup. Alec Eisenberg threw five shutout inning for his first win of the season. He held the Rams to three hits while striking out three. Six relievers contributed to the shutout.

The Pride offense was smacked 11 hits; two by David Liederman, TJ Ehrsam, Ryan Donovan and Matt Ford. Four players also recorded multi-RBIs.

For the Rams, they drop to 12-8 on the season and are in a bit of a rut. James Powers took the loss, he drops to 0-1 on the season. The Rams compiled only three hits; one each by Tom Rydzewski, Ed Bergmann and Kenneth Johntry.

They will play Baruch today at home in a very winnable game.

Molloy suffered a disheartening 17-4 loss to Bloomfield in which they committed four errors, allowed 12 unearned runs to cross the plate and trailed 12-0 before they came to bat in the second inning. With the loss, the Lions drop to 9-15 on the season.

Seven Lions pitchers saw action, with starter Sean Gordon suffering a loss in his first decision of the season. The bright spot was that four Lions hitters compiled two hits; Carlos Guzman, John Galanoudis, Ron Bauer and Nick Gonchar.

They will look to rebound tomorrow at home against Dominican College.

Dowling beat Felician 12-4 to improve to 18-8. JJ Bessell recorded the win to improve to 3-1. The Golden Lions smacked 13 hits; RJ Going led the way with four hits and two RBI.

They benefitted from five Felician errors, which allowed five unearned runs to score.

They will take on Queens College tomorrow with Badamo on the mound as they look to stay red-hot.

Adelphi was shutout 6-0 by NE-10 rival Southern Connecticut. The Panthers drop to 13-12 and 9-5 in the conference.

Freshman TJ Santiago suffered the loss, as he tossed 5.2 innings, allowed five hits, one walk, struck out four and yielded four runs. Mike Cranston, John Bivas and Rick Van Allen combined to throw the next 3.1 scoreless frames.

Unfortunately, the offense got nothing going against Rocco Cundari, who fired a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts. The only Panthers who did any damage was the red-hot Cliff Brantley, who went 3-for-4. The junior transfer now has a mind-boggling 43 hits in just 96 at bats for a .448 average.

The Panthers will return to action today against Dominican College.

St. Joseph’s lost a wild one, 7-6, to Ramapo. They fought back from a 5-2 deficit to take a 6-5 lead on a hit by Dan Diblasi but squandered it in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run single by Ian Osterman.

Matt Mills suffered the loss, although he pitched well in his 3.2 innings of relief. The Golden Eagles only had five hits despite their six runs. Each team made three errors to benefit the opposition.

They are now 8-13 and will take on Lehman today.
