Dowling Takes Two From Bridgeport

The Dowling Golden Lions took both games of a double header from Bridgeport by the scores of 5-3 and 10-0 to improve to 15-7.

In the first game, they trailed the entire game but came up with four runs in the bottom of the eighth to steal the victory. JC Brandmeier hit the go-ahead RBI single to put them ahead.

Tom Bamman tossed five scoreless innings but did not factor in the decision. Robert Rose threw four scoreless in the relief to record the win. John Cruz, RJ Going, and Ian Schneider recorded multi-hit games.

In the 10-0 game, senior JJ Bessell fired a two-hit, 10 k, seven-inning shutout to improve to 2-1.

The offense compiled 14 hits, with John Cruz, Rob Veltre, and JC Brandmeier accounting for nine of those.

They will take on Bridgeport once again today.
