Division-I
Stony Brook played a rain-shortened two-game series against Hartford. Each team won a game 1-0. The Sea Wolves are now 11-10 on the season.
In the loss, Frankie Vanderka followed up his no-hitter with eight strong innings, allowing only three hits and one run but was tagged with the loss. The offense was completely stifled and mustered only one hit by Kevin Krause.
In the victory, Ryley MacEachern fired the seven inning complete game shutout, allowing three hits, he didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven.
They scored their lone run in the fourth inning on an RBI suicide squeeze by Johnny Caputo. The Sea Wolves compiled six hits in this affair.
Hofstra had their entire three-game series against Towson postponed due to the rain.
NYIT had their entire four-game series against Farleigh Dickinson postponed, and even the make up double header on Monday was cancelled.
Division-II
Adelphi only played one of their scheduled games this weekend, and it was a 1-0 loss to AIC. They outhit them 7-5, but could not muster anything against Paige, who fired the shutout. For the Panthers, Chris Lemorocco threw eight strong innings, striking out eight and allowing four hits but was tagged with the loss. Mike Cranston tossed a scoreless ninth inning.
Vincent Sharkey was the lone Panther with a multi-hit game. The Panthers drop to 7-10.
CW Post had five games postponed this weekend.
Molloy won three of four from St. Thomas Acquinas (STAC). In Game One, Max Schonfeld was terrific, firing 8.2 innings, allowing zero earned runs while striking out six. Matt Castaneda closed the door with the one-out save. Molloy did all their damage offensively in the first six innings; RBIs from Ron Bauer, Kevin Podell, John Galanoudis and Kyle Van Duyne.
They lost the next game on Saturday but won the double header on Sunday with scores of 8-2 and 5-1. In the first game, Alex Miden threw seven strong innings, allowing two runs. Ron Bauer and Deilyn Guzman both compiled two RBI.Guzman’s triple in the seventh opened the door.
In the second game, Alex Brosnan, Bobby Kelly and Matt Castaneda combined to allow three hits and one run. John Galanoudis had two hits and two RBI for the Lions, who are now 8-10.
Dowling out Bridgeport 1-0 in their lone game of the weekend, behind a five-hitter by ace Tyler Badamo. The senior walked only one while striking out 10 to win his third game. The lone run came on a second inning home run by Dan Parisi. Dowling improves to 13-7.
Division-III
Farmingdale State lost their only game of the weekend 4-1 to Skyline-foe Mount St. Vincent. Kevin Cashman, who had previously been unhittable for the Rams, allowed three runs in 3.2 innings. The Ram’s lone run came on an RBI double by Andrew Karkota.
St. Joseph’s and Old Westbury got in one game on Saturday, which the Panthers won 8-0. Arismendy Nunez fired a three-hit shutout in which he flirted with a perfect game, he struck out nine. It only took him 105 pitches to breeze through the 27 outs.
Jake Coners went 4-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Nick Yip went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Rob Hyde suffered the defeat for the Golden Eagles, who fall to 4-10.
