Stony Brook just added a little more fire power to their lineup.
After scoring only two runs in their past two games, the Sea Wolves tried an outside-the-box theory. According to sources close to Baseball on the Island, they have lured suspended MLB player and former superstar Alex Rodriguez back to school.
Rodriguez, who was drafted out of Palmetto Bay Westminster Christian high school in 1993, never attended college. He will apparently use his collegiate eligibility beginning this season.
“We are glad to have him aboard,” said a high-ranking member of the program. “Even at his age and with his injury history, he would be the best player in the America East Conference. It’s just what we needed to get over the top,” he added.
A-Rod is expected to play third base and hit cleanup in the lineup beginning this week against Sacred Heart.
The Rodriguez circus is not expected to effect the chemistry of the Sea Wolves who have featured star players in the past.
