Stony Brook swept Albany and they are now back to .500 on the season at 9-9. Aside from the no-hitter, Brandon McNitt also fired a complete game in the 6-2 victory in the middle game. Kevin Courtney has three RBI in that game.
In the third game, they won 7-3 with Tyler Honahan recording the victory with two innings of work. Cole Peragine broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning with an RBI double.
NYIT recorded their first victory of the season on Saturday over LIU Brooklyn by the score of 10-6. They went on to lose 2 of 3 and their record drops to 1-15. In the victory, they pounded out 13 hits with multi-RBI games from Josh Canabal, Nick Sebastian and Matt Deblase.Evan Cohen recorded the win with three shutout innings.
Hofstra had the weekend off, they will return to action tomorrow against St. John’s/
Adelphi split the weekend against Franklin Pierce and Southern New Hampshire. In the 11-2 victory they pounded out 14 hits; three from Rich Mejia and Brandon Stahl. Mejia also recorded a bases-clearing double in the second inning to break the game open. John Mulford stayed in the zone with eight strong inning, striking out six and yielding two runs.
On Sunday they beat Southern New Hampshire 2-1 in 10 innings on a walk-off RBI single by Kevin Hutzel. Matt Abramowitz recorded the victory with three perfect innings with six strikeouts. Chris Lemorroco tossed six shutout innings in his start. Tyler Decker went 3-for-3 in the game.
Molloy and Dowling played a three game set which the Golden Lions won two of three. Dowling took the first game 9-6. They got out to a 5-0 thanks to RJ Going two-run HR. Tom Bamman recorded the win with eight innings allowing four runs.
Molloy took the second game 10-8 in seven innings. They scored six in the third. Four players recorded multi-RBI games. Miden recorded the victory despite allowing eight earned runs.
The third game was over before it started. Dowling won 25-1 and scored in every inning. Rob Veltre and Jon Cruz compiled four hits, RJ Going, Charlee Rodriguez and Ian Schneider had three.
JJ Bessell fired seven shutout innings striking out 10 for the win.
CW Post got swept by Bentley but returned the favor against Stonehill. In their 2-1 win, it took 14 innings. Joey Arena fired the first nine, but Dan Jagiello recorded the win with five innings. The walk-off came on a Rick Alessi single who broke an 0-for.
The next game was a 4-2 win. Stonehill hurt themselves with four errors. Mike Eckerle struck out 10 in seven strong innings. Tom Tolan had three hits and scored a run.
Farmingdale swept Maritime by the scores of 14-5 and 4-3. The Rams banged 22 hits including four from Tom Rydzewski and Danny Paccione. Kevin Cashman recorded the win with three great innings in relief of Mike Dolce.
They won the next game 4-3 thanks to Alex Weingarten’s seven-inning complete game. Rydzewski had two hits and drove in a run.
Old Westbury swept Purchase 10-8 and 7-2. In game one, a wild 9th inning almost saw the Panthers blow a 10-5 lead but Alex DiSanto held on for the save. Brandon Stein drove in three runs.
In Game Two, Tim Ingram had a career day, fanning 14 over seven strong innings. John Pagan went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
St. Joseph’s beat Yeshiva by the combined score of 31-0 to improve to 3-8. Rob Hyde struck out eight over six shutout innings in game one. Joe Liberatore and Joe Calabrese both had three hits.
In Game Two, Dan DiBlasi recorded the win with five shutout innings. Tom Rubenstein, James Terry and James Caifa recorded three RBI.
