It was a rough day on the island for local teams.
Adelphi dropped a close one, 4-3, to Nyack College. They had a 3-2 lead in the fifth but Chris Lemorocco allowed the go-ahead run and suffered the loss.
The Panthers put together only six hits, compiled by six players. They will have a huge weekend with double headers on Saturday and Sunday against Franklin Pierce and Southern New Hampshire.
St. Joseph’s finished a Florida trip they would like to forget with a 22-3 loss to John Hopkins. They committed five errors allowed eight runs in consecutive innings. Matt Hess suffered the loss for the Golden Eagles who drop to 2-8, have lost eight in a row, and travel back to LI for a Skyline Conference matchup against Yeshiva.
Old Westbury suffered a 3-0 setback against New Jersey City. Braylin Perez took the tough-luck loss, firing seven strong innings allowing only one earned runs.
The offense did not help, mustering only six hits with two coming from Kevin Licul. The defense committed three errors. They will take on Purchase in a double header this Saturday.
