March 19 Recap

Stony Brook lost a 1-0 pitcher’s duel yesterday at Cal State Northridge. The winning run came across the plate on a walk-off walk in the bottom of the ninth inning. Chad Lee suffered the loss for the Sea Wolves who drop to 6-9 on the season and 3-4 in one-run games.

The Sea Wolves got a tremendous effort from starting pitcher Tim Knesnik and reliever Bryan Tatelman who combined for eight shutout innings and allowing four hits. The offense only mustered up three hits.

They will come home and begin a four game home stand this weekend.

NYIT lost 8-0 to NYIT as their season-long losing streak continues. Starting pitcher JP Lipovac tossed six innings, allowing seven runs (two earned), but was victimized by four errors.

Six different Bears compiled a hit in this game, but they could not muster a run. They will take on LIU Brooklyn this weekend as they search for that elusive victory.

Hofstra crushed Fordham 11-4 in their home opener. The big blow came on a grand slam in the third inning by starting pitcher Brian MacDonald, who already has two this season.

Graham Tebbit tossed five innings in relief and recorded his first victory of the season.

The Pride move to 7-8 on the season and will have off until next Tuesday.

St. Joseph’s was shut out 6-0 by McDaniel, despite compiling 10 hits. They drop to 2-7 on the season after a promising start. Joe Liberatore smacked three hits.

Glenn Patriss completed the peculiar complete game, tossing nine innings while allowing 10 hits, five walks and six earned runs.

They will take on Johns Hopkins today as they try to end their seven-game skid.
