This weekend the Sea Wolves lost two of three to UC Riverside in California. They won the first game before dropping the next two.
They won 2-1 behind a great outing by Brandon McNitt in his homecoming. He yielded only five hits and one run while striking out four in seven innings. Cameron Stone saved it for him. Kevin Krause and Toby Handley drove in the runs in the second inning.
They lost 3-2 in the middle game, with Frankie Vanderka suffering the tough-luck loss. He threw 6.2, allowing three earned. Riverside scored all three runs in the seventh inning.
The final game was an 11-3 blowout. The Sea Wolves compiled 11 hits but couldn’t come up with the big hit. Ryley MacEachern suffered the loss.
They will play USC tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
