After eight failed attempts, the Old Westbury Panthers won their first game of the season. They had a busy weekend, and finished 3-3 to bring their record to 3-11.
They beat Yeshiva both games by a combined score of 51-0. Yeshiva is not known for their ability to win baseball games and the Panthers used it as an opportunity to bulk up. Nick Yip record six RBI, Alex Abanavas and Byron White added four each in the 36-0 win.
The Panthers were then swept by Bates College by the scores of 3-2, 14-9 and 7-2.
They beat Baruch 7-1 to conclude their weekend. After falling behind 1-0 on an RBI groundout by Nick Pomo-Roman, they scored seven unanswered runs. They compiled 11 hits, and Byron White drove in two runs. Tim Ingram won his first game of the season.
They will play NJ City on Thursday.
