Molloy won one, lost one and had another game cancelled in North Carolina this weekend. They topped Merrimack College 3-2, before losing 6-1 to Southern New Hampshire.
In the win, Molloy overcame a 1-0 deficit with a three-run eighth inning, highlighted by Kyle Van Duyne’s RBI single. In the ninth, Matt Castaneda allowed a run to cut the lead to 3-2 but closed the door for the save. Max Schonfeld’s solid seven inning start was not rewarded with a victory, that went to reliever Anthony Eichhorn.
In the loss, Alex Brosnan allowed six runs in 5.1 innings. Kevin Podell drove in the lone run for the Lions.
They will return to action tomorrow against New Haven.
