Although it got off to a dismal six-game losing streak, the Adelphi Panthers salvaged their annual Florida trip by winning their final two games against AIC and Assumption.
In their 6-3 win against AIC, sophomore John Mulford fired a complete game, striking out 13 batters to record his first win of the season. The Massapequa native allowed only five hits and walked four. The Panthers knocked 10 hits, with multiple hit games from Brandon Stahl, Cliff Brantley, Kyle Ambury and Rich Mejia.
They defeated Assumption 5-3. No statistics were available for this game, but freshman T.J. Santiago recorded his first collegiate win for the Panthers.
Despite the rough week, Adelphi will have a chance to get right this week as they play seven games at home, beginning tomorrow against C.W. Post.
