The Golden Lions of Dowling are off to a nice 7-4 start to their season. They split the weekend against a difficult opponent in Franklin Pierce. They won the first two games on Saturday.
They won 1-0 in a seven inning game. Tom Bamman fired the shutout, allowing six hits and striking out four. The lone run came across on a double by Ian Schneider in the fifth inning.
They also won 2-1 in the night cap. Tyler Badamo came within one out of completing the complete game. He fired 8.2 innings, without allowing an earned run. RJ Going drove in a run with an RBI double and Rob Veltre drove in a run with a ground out.
The Golden Lions lost the next two games, but will return to action tomorrow against New Haven.
