Martinez Wins First Collegiate Game for Rams

The Farmingdale Rams defeated New Jersey City by the score of 9-2 to improve to 15-9 on the season. Freshman Kevin Martinez pitched five shutout innings for his first collegiate win.

Danny Paccione continued his hot hitting at he went 3-5 with a run scored and RBI. His average is now up to a lofty .480 on the season.

David Zilnicki, Anthony Alvino, Ron Remi and Ed Bergmann all compiled multiple hit games. Zilnicki tied the game up at one with RBI single and came around on Alvino’s RBI single to give the Rams the lead in the bottom of the third.

The Rams stole eight bases in the game, including two each from Zilnicki and Alvino.

Junior Mike Dolce worked around two hits in the ninth to close the door and lower his season ERA to a miniscule 0.61.
