The Pride won their eighth game in a row on Wednesday with an 11-2 win over NYIT. It is Hofstra’s longest winning streak since 1995.

NYIT took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a bases loaded walk by Greg Sarra. He ended up settling down in his first collegiate start to throw three innings without allowing an earned run.

The Pride ended up posting three-run innings in the second, fourth and eighth innings to take a commanding lead.

The offense was led by Matt Reistetter who had three hits and six RBI. Robbie Cafiero and Austin Nyman also posted multiple hit days and recorded an RBI.

Nick Kozlowski tossed three scoreless innings in relief and John Schilt closed it out. The Pride move to 13-16 on the season and NYIT falls to 2-19.
