Dowling completed a four-game sweep against Molloy on Monday by a score of 2-1 in 10 innings. The pitching staff did a phenomenal job during the series as they held Molloy to one run in each of the four games. The bats did just enough to win, averaging just over two runs per game.
In the first game, Tyler Badamo tossed a gem of a complete game while allowing only three hits, one run and 10 strikeouts. He improved his record to 2-2 on the season. At the plate, JC Brandmaier drove in both runs for the Golden Eagles with an RBI single in the fourth and a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
On Saturday they won both games of the double heade by scores of 2-1 and 3-1. Adam Brown was the winner in game one as he tossed the seven inning complete game allowing only four base runners whiling recording five strikeouts. The Golden Eagles were down to their final strike of the game but Matt Benedetto drove in the tieing and winning runs with a single to turn a defeat into triumph.
In the third game of the series the Golden Eagles put three runs on the board in the second inning thanks to an RBI triple by Ian Schneider, an RBI single by Rob Veltre who then came around to score on an error.
Tom Bammann tossed the seven inning complete game, scattering six hits and three walks while striking out eight to improve his record to 2-1.
In the final game, Dowling was trailing 1-0 in the ninth once again but a JC Brandmaier single scored Sean Craig to even the score. In the tenth inning Michael Rizzitello won it for the Golden Eagles on an RBI single to score Kyle DeMeo.
Badamo recorded the win in relief, as he fired three shutout innings striking out five batters in relief of Ryan Aloise. Dowling improves to 9-11-1 on the season.
